It should be in your orders on your my sky app although i believe this is one of the openreach strike days

My appointment was 8-1pm today. So far no sign but like the poster above says it is a strike day. They texted me earlier in the week to make sure I was still available for the appointment. Texted that number and they said the engineer may be delayed - although I'm now getting suspicious. Surely they have not scheduled appointments for a strike day that has been known in advance for weeks - it's not a great introduction to the company is it?

CWU members are in dispute with BT Group (which includes Openreach). That's not something any ISP has influence over.

Next one is the 24 October

Indeed. What they do have influence over though is not promising appointments on those dates which were published weeks ago

That may be because some 'Openreach' appointments (particularly relating to FTTP) are carried out by Kelly Communication and MJ Quinn, whose staff are not striking (even if they are CWU members). Openreach subcontracting an increasing number of such staff externally is a significant factor in the current dispute.

Just called sky and they advised my appointment was rescheduled till 26th... apparently openreach were supposed to contact all visits today to inform us they are on strike.. I got told they are on strike on the 24th again also

Thanks @Dd1210 for the info. I cancelled my previous contract before I spoke to Sky so if my date goes beyond the 27th I'll be without Broadband 😳
@TimmyBGood thanks for the info - helps to explain it but it doesn't excuse it. At the end of the day our commercial relationship is with Sky and not the 3rd party of a 3rd party. So far I haven't been contacted by anyone and that reflects on Sky

Thanks - be just my luck the one scheduled for my place will be on strike. It's 5-30 now so I'm not hopeful but I suppose there's still 30 mins left...

Odds are against it, unfortunately. I doubt any ISP has visibility of whether Openreach has scheduled one of their direct employees or a subcontractor: aside from other issues that's probably commercially sensitive information.

Totally agree! Skys name at the end of the day! Trying to put in for compensation but openreach and sky make it close to impossible to do..

Well this is turning into an absolute nightmare. Been on the phone with a Sky rep for an hour whilst he talks to Openreach who appear to have gone from denying they install the ONT (despite their own website saying they do) to them implying I missed the appointment (I was in all day) to arranging another appointment towards the end of November, leaving me without broadband for 3 to 4 weeks.
