We ordered an upgrade to FTTP through Sky back in August 2022. The order was lost in the system and a month later we had to re-order the service. Not a problem as we have a copper phone line and broadband from Vodafone. We were given an installation date of 22nd Oct 2022.
No one turned up so we escalated this to Sky. A month went by with no news, and then on 22 Nov our Vodafone service was disconnected. Sky tried fobbing us off that it wasn't them but Vodafone. However, Vodafone confirmed that Openreach had disconnected the service as Sky had siezed the line and the expected date for completeion had passed. So now we have nothing. I phone Sky every two weeks, and all I get is the same reply, Openreach will update you in 2 weeks time, just kicking the can down the street every 2 weeks.
I've been told it has been escalated to the highest level but it is now February, 6 months from the first order, 5 months since the re-order and 4 montsh since we have had no service and the news is no different. In fact I could be waiting indefinitaly and Sky say they are powerless. I just don't believe this.
Is there anyone else out there with similar experiences? I've been told also that Openreach will not recconect my copper and I cannot order anything other than FTTP products which basically is saying I cannot have broadband at all, when I live in a fibre area, my neighbour has FTTP, so what's wrong with me?????? At my wits end now...... Ofcom were about as much use as a chocolate teapot and I cannot contact Openreach directly..... I hope someone from Sky reads this and has some sympathy and power to help get these situations resolved. Any suggestions most welcome
