Voipfone problems

I work from home and as many do, use a voip phone system provided by a company called Voipfone. I use a Snom870 and a separate Snom M300 Dect unit. I also use a softphone on my mobile when I'm out. All this has worked fine for many years.

Last month I upgraded to sky full fibre to premises. I was very wary after hearing a few horror stories and insisted they left the old fibre to cabinet enabled until we were sure ftp was working. Everything went brilliant and the old setup was disconnected after about a week. Until.....

Overnight last Thursday all the voip phones stopped working, although my home phone plugged into the 'UK' port on the Sky router is fine. They will register intermittently and can't make or receive calls. I spent nearly 3 hours on my mobile to Voipfone's support team last Friday, who were brilliant,  and we eventually came to the conclusion it must be something sky have changed. The reason for this is the softphone on my mobile. If I connect to the sky wifi to route through the internet it fails in the same way as my 2 snom units, but if I disable wifi on my mobile and use 4g it works perfectly.

I have made 3 calls to Sky support and got absolutely nowhere, they've tried the usual rebooting and resetting  but nothing's worked. One of the the support techs even said it was beyond her knowledge. All of the calls have been terminated (I assume automatically by Sky at around the 1 hour mark) and none of them call me back. Hence the 3 calls and wading through the 'we're sending you a text' nonsense 3 times.

Given it happened overnight, to me it feels like a sky update, but they deny it.  I'm a little reluctant to start randomly changing settings as nothing was changed when the problem occurred. Although I have tried to find sip-alg in my router, but it doesn't seeme to be there. I've also tried it with the firewall off and nothing changes.

Help !! Anybody got any ideas ?  I suspect if I purchased a 4g router and plugged them into that the problem would go away. But that 's just throwing money at the problem and defeats the point of upgrading the internet.

Re: Voipfone problems

Well it's definitely a Sky problem.

Took all my phones to a friends house yesterday. he's on plusnet and everything worked perfectly. Then moved on to a different friend on TalkTalk and again, no problems.

Looks like more battles with Sky's support team this morning
