Virgin switch to SKY - do I need an engineer visit?

I already have Virgin and am going through the haggle dance.

However even with the silly landline charge SKY have some good deals on at the moment £29 (£37 in reality +£8 for landline)  for full fibre 900

But do I need a SKY engineers visit, I have already had Virgin drilling holes and installing boxes, am I looking at more drilling and more boxes ?

@cilitbangnthedirt  If you are getting fibre through Sky then you will need more drilling to happen as they need to connect you to the Openreach network, so an engineer will be needed.

As @Highlinder indicates, Virgin infrastructure only carries Virgin broadband. Sky uses the national Openreach network (plus CityFibre in some locations)

If you ever switch back to Virgin don't assume their cable is still live. It wasn't when I did and sky used VM date to cut me off.

If someone is switching from VM to Sky and already has an Openreach box can they assume (or check) that the box is live without an engineer visit?

exSky Broadband, exSky Stream via ethernet
Amazon Firestick
Previously VM

Openreach and any Openreach client ISP will assume it is (unfortunately even if, for example, the ONT is actually missing)
