Very long download times,

Ive been haveing this issue for abot a year now it takes me about 5 hours to download a 50gb update. My brodband allows 100MBPS but its only giveing me 2.3 MBPS. can anyone help? 


Ive tried multipule wifi extenders, lan cables, new drivers. If a sky employee can reply and help cause this is getting very frustrating.

50GB over five hours is about 22Mbs.  I suspect you are looking at Steam reporting a download speed in MBs (megabytes per second) rather than Mbs (megabits per second)

Yea i am looking at steam, but why is it takeing so long when my broadband allows 100mbps ?

22Mbs from 100Mbs at the Hub wouldn't be unexpected over local wireless: all WiFi is zero Mbs on the other side of a few walls.

 

For an ethernet connection one would probably suspect the limit is bandwidth sharing at the server end: Valve doesn't permit users on faster connections to saturate their home bandwidth at the expense of other users, particularly if there's a big new distribution going out globally.
