Hi,
We have recently rejoined Sky Broadband after 2 years (problem free) with Plusnet.
We are on Sky Broadband Superfast, and using an online speed checker, we are getting 70mb download and 18mb upload speeds. So no problems there.
Unfortunately whenever we go into a room further away (3 bed semi, not Buckingham Palace) from the Sky Hub, the internet slows down to the point that we're having to switch Wi-Fi off our devices and using 4G mobile data to be able to use the internet. Yesterday I couldn't even get onto Sky.com to research the problem.
I have tried to usual protocol of restarting the hub, resetting the hub, reconnecting to the hub, but nothing makes the slightest difference. Using Sky's Service Checker on the app shows that our Broadband is working fine, but does show that the Wifi looks like it has a problem.
It recommends moving the hub, or restarting it. My issue is that the hub is in the exact same place that our Plusnet hub was located, and the exact same place that the previous Sky hub was located, and we had no issues then.
Is it likely that I could have a faulty hub?
We have 1x laptop, 2x phones and 1x TV connected to the hub, in use at different times to one another, so I can't see usage being an issue.
I'm starting to wish I had just renewed with Plusnet (supposedly an inferior provider!).
Anyone else had similar issues?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHave you tried changing the WiFi channel on the hub?
You may need a booster for proper coverage
