Verify Install Process

Hi All,

I have heard mixed things about this. We are renovating our house and have ran ethernet cables throughout the full house (so we need the router in a specific place to accommodate this).

We are having full fibre installed (500mb). Openreach came today and installed the fibre cable and put the grey box at the front of the property (CSP?). I explained that I need the router to be installed by sky, right near where the old phoneline came in. Openreach explained that the box can go anywhere and sky will join the inside bit, upto the openreach box, especially if it's only a 10meter run. Is this correct?

Just wanted to confirm sky would drill the hole and install the internals where we require, and then connect to the openreach part outside.  On the image below , the bottom right is the openreach are. And the router will be installed to the right of the front door (6/7meters?

Yes, that looks about right, although whether the second stage of an FTTP installation is carried out by Sky or Openreach does depend on the availability of a Sky team trained in fibre splicing.

I'd think there shouldn't be any issue with that as an optical pigtail route or distance.
