VPN cannot connect to wifi max router
Hello I am having issues connecting my work VPN to my sky internet.
I was on the phone to a sky agent called Adrian for the past few hours and we tried many things. We tried forwarding the ports suggested by my IT department. We tried changing the security protocol to WPAT 2 instead of WPAT 3. Broadband shield was already off.
We enabled UPnP in the router settings. We also made sure that the MAP-T sharing ration was set to 1:1 instead of 1:8. I am hoping to get help from the back office text support since the Sky agent wasn't to assist further. We also tried switching the DMZ on in my Sky app. We have also reset the router multiple times.
I use VPN MKUH through windows cororate network microsoft account. My IT department advised my work VPN uses IKEv2 protocol which uses UDP ports 500 and 4500. You will need to communicate this to your internet provider to allow these ports to be used.
Thanks.

Re: VPN cannot connect to wifi max router
Some people have had success changing the MTU of their network adapter to 1472. If that doesnt work try 1452. Your IT department should be able to help with this, alternatively I can provide instructions.

Re: VPN cannot connect to wifi max router
Thanks for your help. Can I access this through my sky app and if so, which setting do I need to go into? Thanks.

Re: VPN cannot connect to wifi max router
Its a setting in the core settings of the network adapter and/or VPN adapter on your laptop, hence why I said your IT department may need to help

Re: VPN cannot connect to wifi max router
I have been going through this site to see if anyone has the same issue as me and there was one so far, see snippy below. How can I check if I have IPv4 or IPv6? I am looking at all possibilities now as I am 4 days without VPN access. Thanks.

By default a current Sky Hub would be configured to support both.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: VPN cannot connect to wifi max router
@TiredNH5worker This is a fairly widespread issue linked to tge way Sky have chosen to share IP4 addresses between multiple customers. Sky support both IP4 and IP6 but given the shortage of IP4 addresses they like many other perators use one IP4 addresses for multiple customers using a system called MAP-T. There are a couple of workrounds one is the one @jamesn123 mentioned another is to switch UPnP on in the Advanced Settings for the hub in the My Sky app which switches the sharing ratio to 1:1. I
If that doesn't work complete and submit this form https://forms.office.com/e/kk1gCkWsRb?origin=lprLink which goes to the team handling this issue.
