Probably because that's standard practice within the ISP industry as a whole.

I beleive there is "Honeymoon" period of 2 years for new relationship with all ISP.

End of 2 years..you either find a new relationship or settle down as longterm with current one.

I have been with Sky TV for 17+ years but only 5 months with their internet service. My internet contract reads it will be £46 end of the 2 years so everyone gets same treatment.

Better discounts are offered to new customers as an incentive for them to join.

If you choose to jump ship and go with another provider then in 18/24 months you'll be in the same position with that provider and if you want you'll be able to return to Sky as a new customer and gain the benefits at that time.

Re: VIP fibre prices

Give them a ring and see what discounts they'll give you, I find that whenever I'm put through to someone based here in the UK, they are able to give far better discounts than if you're connected to someone overseas.

And in fact this time, I've had an email off Sky telling me that my discounts were due to end this December and that they've extended the discounts for a further 12 months.
