Using netgear nighthawk R8000

Hey, just moved over from BT to Sky BB.

To use my netgear with BT was real easy, there was a setting to point the router at BT's gateway.

I have a sky hub it all seems to pretty locked down, anyone know how to point the netgear at the sky servers?

Aslo setting up port forwarding, it says use the sky app.. I can see that anywhere in the sky app, any help apprecieted Thanks

@SylvesterFox Sky use a different authentication system from BT so it isnt guaranteed thar your Netgear unit will connect directly because, as far as I can see, it doesnt support the required DHCPv4 Option 61. If you have full fibre you can try the alternetive DHCPv6 PD set up which works on the 80% of lines where exchange equipment support it.

if you want to use the Netgear router behind the Sky hub in a double NAT config it is probably worth putting the R8000 in the Skyhub's DMZ which avoids most of the complications for port forwarding etc.

The settings for the Sky Max hub are in the My Sky app under product settings if they dont appear try signing out and closing the app before trying again. Some people have to talk to Sky to get the hub added to the app.
