Re: Using my own router instead of Sky supplied
I agree the Asus routers are fab and i loved mine just gave up the ghost a AX58u. The replacment i bought a TUF AX4200 was really quick too but really unstable hence i went with the TPLINK. SUS TUF 3200 i bought was really unstable too think asus have firmware issues with these 2 models. Both the Asus models connected to the FTTP connection 900 without any configuration.

@MMMIIIUUUT No problems. Orbi range you are talking about just way over priced, lot better in there range, but all depends on what is needed to be covered area/unit wise!

Re: Using my own router instead of Sky supplied
So on Thursday night my internet went down. My first thought was obviously to bring out Sky's router and plug that back in, which confirmed that the connection was down.
I called support, and they blamed OpenReach, but I didn't see how that was possible, since I was able to get a DHCP lease from their servers, so obviously there's connectivity. Called back the next day, and they escalated it and said it should be fixed in 72 hours (far from ideal for a disabled homebody). Today, it came back on, but it was really spotty, couldn't reach half the internet.
After some troubleshooting, I realised that the issue was with IPv6, anything IPv4 was fine. I hadn't changed any settings, so I didn't know what the issue was. Long story short, I switch IPv6 on my router from DHCP to MAP-E, and it seems to be behaving itself for the most part. Just wanted to update the thread in case anyone has any similar issues, and if the connection doesn't remain stable, I may need more suggestions to troubleshoot and get to the heart of the problem, but for now at least, everything seems to be working again.
Cheers!

Re: Using my own router instead of Sky supplied
@AJCrowley Are you still using the Cuddy as your router, did it per chance do a FW update? Still using the Asus same iPv6 as before but has had a couple FW updates recently but no issues as yet!

Re: Using my own router instead of Sky supplied
@JimM1 I have a sky max hub with an asus rt-ax5400 plugged in via ethernet acting as my main router. The only way I have managed to get ipv6 working on the asus router is passthrough. Please could you explain how you got Native IPV6 working on your setup? When I check the ipv6 address, prefix and prefix length are blank.

Re: Using my own router instead of Sky supplied
Ideally I'd like to set up ipv6 as stateful as I need some fixed ipv6 addresses.

Re: Using my own router instead of Sky supplied
@anwar1234 You have to use passthrough iPv6 mode if you are wan connecting the Asus to the sky Hub, there is no other choice, Native operation is when you are Direct connected with the Asus to the ONT Fibre modem!
My sky SR203 is retired back to it's box and all the control on the network is done by the routing off the main XT8 with the 3 Ai mesh nodes in mixed backhaul operation!

Re: Using my own router instead of Sky supplied
@JimM1 Thanks for the elaboration. So is it possible to get fixed ipv6 addresses by setting the skymax hub to use stateful configuration in the sky router admin page for ipv6 config and then having the asus router in passthrough mode for ipv6?

Re: Using my own router instead of Sky supplied
@anwar1234 You are going have to go look at what you can do with the sky Max hub in operation, have never used one and will never, it's far too tied down for control with virtually zero web interface and everything app control, so really you need to see what you can do Max wise....
Do check that www.whatismyipaddress.com and www.ipv6.com are working. Also https://test-ipv6.com/ to test it all as needed.

Re: Using my own router instead of Sky supplied
@JimM1 Thanks again. I'll do some tinkering later today. I have to keep the sky hub in operation for my landline

Re: Using my own router instead of Sky supplied
@anwar1234 No problem, had the Asus XT8 connected wan/lan and routing on the SR203 hub for 8 weeks to make sure the system was up and working well, no issues with anything and iPv6 addresses all passing through fine....
