Hi. We have recently been told by an open reach engineer working on our broadband connection that we should request an upgrade of the line from a 40/10 to an 80/10 connection.
does anyone have experience of this? Will sky do this for a fee??

What speed are you getting now?
Could you enter your full address below and post the table and notes below after removing your address from the image

For clarity, that would be 80/20 : 'up to' 80Mbs inbound and 20Mbs outbound (so twice as fast as 40/10Mbs)

You image shows superfast speed at 23Mbps . What are you getting at the minute?
G.fast is showing but is the status green?

I think we're getting around 11mbps...
G.fast in the table says unavailable under WBC FTTC

Unfortunately unless they physically change you to a closer cabinet the best you'll get is 23 Mbps. So the should not be advising 40 let alone 80Mbps. Are the sogea fields for vdsl populated

Find out more@Mangetout123 that means when anyone next orders a service the voice kine will switch from being delivered via the old phone socket to being delivered via the hub ie switch from analogue to digital if it hasnt already been done. At some future point that will be forced switch but it has been put off to at least January 2027 as somecslarms and medical equipment cant use the new service.
