Unreliable WiFi almost unusable

Recently switched over to sky package TV and broadband etc. 900mb gigafast. Overall the speed tests I'm doing come back pretty fast however that isn't what I'm actually experiencing. Other than my sky puck which has the odd buffer once or twice a day other devices are recieving slow speeds and unreliable connection. I have trouble shooted this however I can sense that something isn't right despite tests saying it's all ok. Web pages take 5 seconds to load, WhatsApp messages take 10 seconds on the clock symbol before sending and just fired up my gaming pc that is 10 feet from the router and is getting anywhere from 40mb to 1mb per second. Playing Xbox online is unplayable at the moment and I feel there is something wrong with either the hub or the line to my house. Any suggestions or similar experiences?

Have you checked the speed to the hub within the MySky app? If the PC is only 10' away then an ethernet cable would be preferable if possible.

Change the Sky Broadband Shield to 18 or off entirely and perhaps change the security setting in the hub settings to WPA2.

Presuming this is a wifi issue rather than speed to the hub, unplug the hub for 10 minutes and then reboot, hopefully a channel rescan will find a less congested wifi channel.

Have a look at the following to see if they can resolve your problem easily if no success with the above, you can also use the MySky app. If not you may need to consider either the Sky WiFi Max add-on package or perhaps purchasing a 3rd party mesh system (which remains yours regardless of ISP used and would be my own personal choice).
