Trying to extend Broadband to a garden room

I'm tyring to set up a connection to a garden room we built which we intend to use as an office.

We had a CAT6 cable installed, and have an old Sky router which I have tried to connect via ethernet (using CAT6) back to the main router.

No joy.. any suggestions on how I need to set it up to have a wireless connection for multiple devices in the garden room?

A repurposed router is almost always inappropriate unless, as a minimum, it's given a different IP address and has DHCP disabled.

Suitable hardware is a dedicated wireless access point, a router running in dedicated access point mode, or a Sky wireless booster
