@Chrisee woke up this morning to find the connection had dropped again internet and voice light amber, there was literally only the Sky box connected (hard wired) I powered off the ONT then back on and within 30 seconds it had come back on, there's obviously an issue externally, I have disconnected the sky box there is literally nothing connected now if it does it again I'm unsure where to go from here I have a callback from a Network specialist between 12-1 today

Agree, either external or the ont modem itself.

Take photos with exact time and date, or video you having to reboot the ont to establish the connection.

Re: To Many Wifi Devices?

@cuke the ONT is fine the lights are permanently on even when the internet and voice disconnects, even the connection on wan port on router, both lights are green on the little LED's on port, I've tried switching ethernet cables to see if that helps, currently have no devices connected, it did disconnect this morning with nothing connected before I changed the cables over

Re: To Many Wifi Devices?

@Chrisee @cuke since I changed the ethernet cable over from the ONT into router I haven't had any disconnections, I'm really hoping it was a faulty cable that was causing the issue, could that of been the problem?

@Robbo0410 its quite likely the cause of the issue as ethernet cables can be damaged quite easily especially if bent in too tight a radius .

Re: To Many Wifi Devices?

@Chrisee it's just randomnly disconnected me from my Xbox, net is still up however, but it's now saying the 5ghz is disabled, just done a speed test on my Xbox and I was getting 256 meg wireless so it clearly isn't disabled, any ideas?

I am still connected on my PS5 even though it's disabled in the settings, done a speed test and get 430 meg, but my step son can't connect his pc upstairs it's only connecting to the 2.4 channel, I'm well and truly baffled

@Robbo0410 sounds like an entirely different issue. Several possible causes first is simply you havecsplit the two wifi bands and the device is connecting to the wrong SSID - dont split bands unless you need to do so to allow something to connect that cant handle a dualband SSID. It could be due to interference from another 5GHz signal.

Re: To Many Wifi Devices?

@Chrisee I never split the bands as I know it's not efficient doing that I'd rather both bands were on, it's gotta be interference, had to ring Sky again this morning as my network has completely disappeared and it is picking up an entirely different one, only way I can connect devices is via ethernet or WPS nothing will connect wirelessly as it's not even my network, there sending out a replacement router but I don't think that's the problem tbh

Re: To Many Wifi Devices?

@Chrisee would it be worth investing in some tp link powerline adapters and having both the main Q box and mini box wired and turn the WiFi on both as I think it's the 5ghz from the mini box that is interfering

@Robbo0410 powerline adapters can help especially if the WiFi signal is low. I used them myself as my home is in 3 levels with a retaining wall which means a significant area is blocked from direct wifi. Assume you w ill get roughly 25% of tge rated output and always use wall sockets rather then trailing adapters for tge adapters themselves. Ig]f you buy online they can go back if your home's electrical wiring causes them not to work which can happen.

Re: To Many Wifi Devices?

@Chrisee it's not that the WiFi is low it's just to try and eliminate this interference problem if the mini box is wired as well as the main box I can disable the wireless on both to see if that eliminates the issue, I'm guessing mini box mesh is causing a problem, so would the main box be wired into the router and the mini box on a power line adapter, the main box is close to the router in the living room, been a few year since I used powerline plugs
