Thinking of Joining Sky - Question Regarding Latency/Jitter

I'm thinking of joining Sky Broadband as I was on TalkTalk before switching to EE however I've had to cancel with EE.

The reason being, my connection with TT was able to have far lower latency and far less jitter than EE.

Upon some research, it seems that the internet traffic is routed differently by the two ISPs.

On TalkTalk when I used cmd in windows to "ping bbc.co.uk" - I usually get around 2-3ms average.

On EE - it was 10-12ms.

Previously, on VM it was 18-22ms (but with big spikes to 26-36ms).

Now I've read that Sky is very similar to TT in the backend network structure.

Is anyone to do a test for me?

i would go back to TalkTalk however the service / support is abysmal (only via chat) and I do not like Eero 6 Router and that fact you have to control it via an app rather than tweak settings on the browser.

If someone can do a test on windows using cmd and pinging BBC.co.uk, and perhaps also a couple speed tests on Speedtest.net to show server ping and jitter to London and Manchester - that would be amazing!

@Xero-7 Ping is dependant on where and what you are connected to!

Here you have it!

Pinging bbc.co.uk [2a04:4e42::81] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 2a04:4e42::81: time=16ms
Reply from 2a04:4e42::81: time=16ms
Reply from 2a04:4e42::81: time=16ms

Ping statistics for 2a04:4e42::81:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 16ms, Maximum = 16ms, Average = 16ms

Ah ok,

This is very similar to the EE set up,

Thanks for posting,

I'll try TalkTalk again and if not, may consider Sky.
