Temperly moving house while work is done on ours

Hi All, Next year we need to move out of our house for a couple of months why work on our house is taking place.  My husband and son work from home so need to have no disruption to the broadband service.  As this is not a house move will sky allow me to move my services on a temporary basis or will I need to install broadband in the temp property, which I don't really want to go into a new contract with?  Thanks

There's no such thing as a 'temporary' move of fixed-line broadband: ISPs incur costs levied by Openreach to provision an address, so can't permit that kind of flexibility and still make a profit.  In theory you could book a Home Move to the new address and then back again, but I suspect Sky wouldn't exactly be delighted: they'd almost certainly want a new fixed minimum term commitment from you at least.

Probably the best idea is to get a 4G router and a monthly contract.

There's plenty of choice of providers with no minimum contract term and some will permit you to only activate the SIM for months where you require service. That way once you're back at home you can always activate it for a month if you have any problems with your landline/fibre/cable broadband.

Best to get the router seperately as that gives you more flexibility in terms of provider and package.

An app like Cellmapper on your mobile phone ought to give you some indication of whether providers have a decent signal/service in the area.
