TV over Wi-Fi?

Hi all.  Thinking about returning to Sky after 10 years away.  I see they are now offering “Sky Stream.  No dish, TV over Wi-Fi”.  Well, we all know how cr*p Wi-Fi is and I’m not even sure if the TV can receive Wi-Fi directly.  So, my question is, is this just the usual sloppy use of language and they really mean TV over the Internet or does it really mean Wireless?  If the latter, can the TV be done over a cable connection or does it have to be wireless?  Or is it really TV to a box and an HDMI lead to the TV as in ye olde days?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Stream is television delivered online to a Sky badged box (over either WiFi or ethernet from the internet router) which connects to the TV set by HDMI.

10Mbs to the Stream 'puck' is fine for HD, more like 25Mbs is required for UHD.

You'll find all the details on the Sky website, the Glass and Stream forum here, and multiple online reviews.

I suspect you are confusing this with 'wireless HDMI' which is indeed rubbish.
