Re: TP Link AC2100 Problems

Hello @cookiemonsteruk   thanks for the support, however  could you suggest me any asus modem router that supports wifi 6 to perform the same function as tp link  thank you . The speed I do get from modem over wifi (300) is nearly half the speed which i do get over lan (800).

Re: TP Link AC2100 Problems

Hi, hoping for some help. I've bought the AC2100 and followed all the steps connecting with the telephone wire etc. but I just get "sorry, internet not connected. Please check your phone cable properly connected" when I get to test. The telephone wire comes direct from the open reach master socket 5C. The same wire the sky hub uses....

any help would be great!

Re: TP Link AC2100 Problems

Did you get it working in the end. I have exactly the same issue with my AC2100 - I'm wondering if I need to restart the Optical Network Terminal the BT Open Reach white box

Re: TP Link AC2100 Problems

Ok got it working. For FTTP (Fibre to the premisis) where your internet goes via the white BT open reach ONT (Optical Network Terminal)  before going into your sky router you need to do the following:

Originally posted by cookiemonsteruk

1. Connect the network cable from the FTTP wall box to port 4 (labelled LAN/WAN)

2. Login to the router and click advanced at the top.

3. Click Operating Mode and change to "Wireless Router Mode" press "Save"

4. Once ready, while on the "Advanced" setting again, go to "Network" -> "Internet"

5. You will see an empty table, click "Add" in the top right above said table

6. Change Internet Connection Type to "Dynamic IP"

7. Ensure IPv4 remains ticked.

8. Tick IPv6 (wont be selected at the moment)

9. Do not clone mac

10. Press Save

11. Wait, it can take a minute or two but should eventually show connected.

12. Enjoy a better wireless experience

(Note this is not my solution credit goes to cookiemonsteruk on another sky thread.)

Now i'm going to try and use the TP mesh wifi eco-system and build my home network up from there.

Re: TP Link AC2100 Problems

As a follow up question. Seeing as FTTP used the ONT can any router be used to plug into it so long as its set to wireless router mode? I attempted to get the Google Nest WiFi router to play ball but it wouldn't. I'm wondering if alternatives like TP Deco mesh system would work?  ( this is different from the TP mesh system)

Does anyone have any experience with connecting a mesh system directly to the ONT?

Re: TP Link AC2100 Problems

Hey is this modem/router compatible with Sky Gfast internet? And can I put it into modem mode and use it as a bridge for another router if needed?
