Swapping broadband provider

How can I get sky to tell virgin media that I'm leaving them?

@Andylaw014671  It should be done automatically when you sign up to Sky, worth remembering they can only take over the broadband service from VM, any TV service with them would need to be cancelled by you.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Swapping broadband provider

Thanks for your reply I've seen posts saying that sky have to let them know. My only concern was sky don't know I was with virgin media they didn't ask is that something sky will find out? My t.v package is with sky so I should be fine on that front.

@Andylaw014671  When you ordered did you order it as a new service or a takeover?

You should receive a text or email from VM to tell you another ISP is requesting broadband and if there are any early termination fees to pay.

@Andylaw014671

I switched from Virgin Media to Sky few months ago and like yourself already had Sky TV.

It's better to order online via Uswitch as you can collect a £85 gift card and the prices are also decent.

Also if you order online..there is the option for "OTS" which gives you the option to inform Virgin Media of your intention to leave them.

I don't think the person over the phone would be dealing with termination of Virgin Media and you may end of having 2 seperate bills.
