Hi,
We currently have Superfast+Boost with the SR203 hub, with a stable ~70Mb/s internet connection. We took Boost initially for parental controls (no longer needed) and for the out of hours engineer scheduling (needed once since we took it). During the pandemic, device concurrency & coverage around the house on the current SR203 became a problem (2 of us working from home on VPN, teen on school work and XBOX downloads), so we bought 2 BT Whole Home discs for a mesh network. After turning off the WiFi on the SR203 and installing the BT Whole Home discs, our WiFi coverage and device concurrency has been rock solid, other than needing to reboot the discs every few weeks.
Our broadband renewal is not until Apri next year and we;re not minded to look anywhere other than Sky as our broadband service has been great. I have been considering if the £5 per month for Boost is worth continuing with though.
Reading up on sky, com, WiFi Max has the same benefits as Boost for the same price, with the added benefit of not needing to run a parallel set of devices for a mesh network. Couple of questions
1. I can upgrade to WiFi Max online. Presumably this starts a new 18 month broadband contract?
2. If upgrading from Superfast+Boost online to WiFi Max, is Boost automatically cancelled as part of the upgrade process, or would it need to be cancelled seperately with Sky?
3. We currently have two BT Whole Home discs to cover the house & all devices with a mesh. Can a 'pod' be requested when ordering WiFi Max online, or would this be a separate call to SKy once WiFi Max is installed?
3. Would I be better sticking with what we have already and cancelling Boost come renewal time next year?
(Our Sky TV is via Glass+Stream Puck, no Sky Q to consider).

Sky Max should work in your configuration but be advised that currently, Sky Max does not allow port forwarding manually but does support uPnP port forwarding, so if you have manual port forwarding for the Xbox then that will cause an issue until they add that feature later.
The Pod would need to be requested after installing Sky Max if the coverage isn't acceptable with the Sky Max router being 802.11ax. The Pods are only 802.11ac.
If you do run into issues with Sky Max then you would have a cooling-off period for Sky Max, so you could cancel it if you have difficulties with your setup.

- Boost should be cancelled when you order Max but you might want to check the agent does it.
- I dont believe you can switch to Max from boost online, it might be a phone call you have to make.
- I believe you get 1x pod on inital order and you can request more if coverage is not sufficient.
- As to whether you think you should just wait until renewal time is up to you. If you think the setup is worth changing for the extra functionality then yes of course, especially if you are going to take advantage of WiFi 6. However if you have a stable setup you are happy with now there is also an argument to not change anything.
