Hello,
Thinking of ordering one of the Sky full fibre packages for a relative.
Unfortunately, where the legacy copper cable ingresses into the property, there is no power socket for the ONT.
After some discussion it was suggested that the best entry point was approximately 12m from where the existing underground ducting (which I presume would be used for the fibre along with the copper) surfaces outside the front door.
I've done some searching online and see that Openreach offer a Premium Connection product for non-standard installations, but the different articles I've read quote different distances.
My questions are:
- do I need to order this Premium Connection service for a 12m external cable run around the house, and;
- how do I specify that in my order online (I can't see anywhere that allows you to specify)?
Regards,
Ben

It appears that while Openreach lists a 'Premium' installation, no ISP actually offers it to customers.
Realistically you just book a standard FTTP installation and then discuss with the installer on the day.

Find out moreJust keep in mind that the installer has no obligation to install it where you wish, although most installers are happy to do what you'd like not all will. You can of course refuse install at any point if the proposed solution is not suitable for you.
