Summer house
I'm renovating my summer house and want to get internet up there. It's too far for the WiFi to reach so I'm wondering how's the best way to get a connection up there? I can run an Ethernet cable from my router up to the summer house (approx 70m). Would it best to plug this Ethernet cable into a router from sky or go for a third party? Would it have to be a different WiFi or can it be the same WiFi as in the house?

Re: Summer house
@DavCarr ethernet should be good for up to 100m but I would use Cat6 external grade cable. All Skt hubs have gigabit ethernet ports so there should not beca need to replace the router. Using a third party WiFi access point should not be an issue as you are well out of range of your home wifi.

Re: Summer house
@DavCarr You can also use the same ssid/password combination out in the summer home also so should have no connection problems moving between both points!

Re: Summer house
Thanks both. Any recommendations on the new router for the summer house? Anything to look out for when buying one? Or anything to avoid?

Re: Summer house
@DavCarr you dont need a router in the summer house you want a wifi access point what you need depends on the speed you want but something like this access point should work. Having a second router adds complexity to the network especially if you want to access devices in the house from the summer house.
