Suddenly reduced QoS performance over WiFi

I've been using Sky Wifi for about a year at my current flat, and generally it hasn't caused us any issues. I'm able to game online whilst my partner streams, all on our 67Mbps connection which is MORE than enough bandwidth for all our devices.

In the last week or so, we've struggled with the Wifi speeds a lot. I've had exceptionally high latency/packet loss when a video is streaming over WiFi, for example, or even when I'm the only person on the network (bar a few smart devices and a raspberry Pi home-server) I can have my video conferencing calls lag/drop out intermittently despite the ample up/down speeds.

I'm not expecting stellar performance over WiFi, but our flat is quite small and we've genuinely never had such spotty performance. Has anyone else noticed the same? I know Sky Hubs don't support QoS so maybe it'd be a good idea get my own router - recommendations would be brilliant 🙂

Might be worth seeing if the devices connected via ethernet experience the same issue. Then you know whether you have a WiFi contention issue, possible QoS issue, or line issue
