I was due to have an engineer come last Friday. I received a message to tell me it was having issues and to wait until today (Wednesday 18th) I have still heard nothing and am without internet meaning I cannot do my work fully when at home.
when will I hear back and when will someone be out to fix my broadband?

You could give Sky a call and ask for an update but Sky can only tell you what Openreach have told them regarding the delay. Incidentally wfh does not afford you any shorter repair times as you are on a cheaper end domestic service.
