Speed slower than advertised

Hello. Around 3 weeks ago I started a broadband plan with Sky, which was advertised for around 67 Mbs, but since then i have been measuring 40Mbs, even with an ethernet cable directly connected to the router. What can be the issue and does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

67Mbs is typically quoted as the national average for FTTC: it's not necessarily deliverable at any particular address.

Historically both Ofcom and the ASA permit ISPs to use the figure even though it's potentially misleading.

Actual speed arriving at a subscription property depends almost entirely on the length of the copper line to the fibre cabinet.
