@MukeshB @millbri  I suspect your issues arise from the different equipment/ hub your previous ISP supplied to that which you now have with Sky.  Hubs/ routers are not all equal in quality, WiFi strength, customisation, etc.

Re: Speed issue and wifi coverage at home

Did you get any solution to that. As per contract i have 15 days to decide and interestingly sky asking me to wait next 14 days to see the improvement system is fine tuning speed. Looks like trap post 14 days you can't move without pay . How others experience??

Re: Speed issue and wifi coverage at home

There is no much difference previous broadband gave one router and around 5 phone was connected and working well

similar sky provided router (no other service) and connected 2 phone while testing and got lower speeds for 1gig plan

To my understanding your line does not require any "fine tuning" you either get the speed or you do not.... having said this.... the speed to the hub/modem whatever Sky provides is different to the speed of the WiFi from that hub.

If possible test the speed with a device connected via an ethernet cable to the hub and that should give you a more accurate reflection of the speed to the hub. WiFi speed and strength is IMHO a separate matter. To get around that I purchased and use my own mesh system. If I used it on your Sky connection, I am 99% certain you would see an improvement with your WiFi speeds and strength across your home.

I can understand if you don't want to spend extra money, particularly if the primary motivation to leave your previous ISP and join Sky was to save money.

Re: Speed issue and wifi coverage at home

No help at all. Was speaking to an agent online but got cut off. Wish I had stayed with Vodafone now.

Unfortunately that's entirely bogus for FTTP: it's a legacy reference to the way copper broadband would step up speed over time until the copper line reached the maximum it could carry without stability issues (referred to technically as Dynamic Line Management)

It's frankly baffling why Sky still has this in the call centre scripts for full fibre circuits.
