@Tom277 If your line was on a G.Fast before it is just easier to leave it that way, the BTW can be miss leading as G.Fast is all going to be phased out, and you have to be on a VERY good line real close to the street cabinet to push up to the 150Mb/s speeds, but you have confirmed the SR204 hub that for sure is G.Fast from sky.

That would tend to indicate that G.fast has been available at some point, because they typically aren't fitted otherwise.

I don't know what any of the statistics mean but hoping somebody could give me some clarity on this. Also worth nothing the average is high but I was previously getting 100ish with Sky and sometimes throughout the day it'll be high and then really really low like 0.10mbps download speed etc

@Tom277 Sorry your stat's picture is just so poor it is unreadable for me! Speed to your hub could be better but you sure are on a G.fast line as above the 80Mb/s ceiling applied on VDSL!

Would be no reason to not get 150Mb/s if you had it before, would walk the line to your Green Street box, ideal within the 80 Foot mark to push max speed's.

@Tom277 Couple of pics to give you the size idea for readable.

Cheers Jim, not sure why uploading it borked the quality! If it looks like it should be working any suggestions to help speed it along? I can basically see the green box from my window it's barely 100 meters down the street!

@Tom277 All you can do is run the diagnostic test to see if anything gets picked up line wise, also a call to sky to have them run a diagnostic from there end to see if they can find anything.

Everything has to be tip top to push the speed's up to the 150MB/s and support is going to be the real hard part, norm is for OR to come swap out the G.fast face plate as a first part, you can get one yourself if you wish plenty online £15 mark for them. Good quality cable from the plate to the hub, and after that a SR204 swap out.

Also avoid switching the hub on/off too much if it get's dslam'd it will push speed way down to try and stabalise the line.

If you can get you stat's way bigger in detail and size, just such a poor quality image! That's why i never use a phone you have no idea what it is going to do to the image!

@Tom277 your stats show you are on a Ultrafast 1 line using G.FAST as I suspected. That explains your relatively slow service. The speed a G.FAST line delivers depends on its length and quality yours is marginal returning under 100Mb/s which is Sky's normal lowest limittherecare no easy way to improve speed.

As you may have gathered G.FAST is a dead end as it never performed as well as hoped and its roll out was stopped when Openreach decided to start rolling out full fibre which is far more robust technology. Sky one of onlya few ISPs selling it where full fibre is not available.

@JimM1 I find clicking in images in the forum so they load directly can make poorly rendered images much clearer but that does depend on the device and browser you use.

@Chrisee Used every tool in the kit, copy grab load seperate, even tried into paint just so small could not get it bigger at all to read any defined state! Edge only browser i use never needed anything else!

Re: Sold full fibre, only part fibre available in area

I don't want to speak too soon but I think I have fixed it:

changed my 2.4ghz channel to 6, 20mhz

changed my 5ghz channel to 36, 40mhz

so far, I'm getting a consistent speed of 95mbps on a WiFi analyzer on my phone and it's things are loading in seconds as opposed to minutes. I'll keep checking but thank you everyone for your help and contributions!

Re: Sold full fibre, only part fibre available in area

@Tom277 You are moving along, but clamping down your 5Ghz band to 40wide is ok as your pipe is low at 150Mb/s, if you do get fibre in the future remember to open it up as all you are doing is restricting that channel width and restricting the 5Ghz bandwidth throughput!

You should analyze the 5Ghz band around you for near neighbours clashing with you, 5Ghz is very much contained local but the 2.4Ghz band can get way out off hand quickly! 3,6,11 for the 2.4Ghz so stick to the rules, and do not cross band, devices working correctly will back off from each other!
