Slow speed

Hi,

I have sky superfast broadband however my guaranteed download speed is 63mbs. For the last few weeks I've been averaging 53mbs, so below the guaranteed speed. I've been advised by Sky the issue is with my technology, I don't have full fibre and because of the copper wires to the house , this is why my speed is dropping.

I have complained and requested an engineer. I've been told I need to upgrade to full fibre however I live in a village where Openreach have no plans to install full fibre.

The agent on the phone today said Openreach will install full fibre to my property which seems very unlikely. I feel like I'm being fobbed off, my only other options are to accept the lower speed at a reduced rate or go with someone else.

wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar and what they did to resolve the issue?

@fiision you can only order full fibrecifvit is available in your road. It is worth checking your fulll

address in this checker https://www.openreach.com/fibre-checker as if it is availablecthe upgrade is sensible .

If it isnt you will, effectively be stuck as Openreach are no longer doing significant work on copper lines. Your choices would be mobile broadband or services like Starlink.

Re: Slow speed

Full fibre is not available in the village. Many places don't have full fibre so I don't understand why Openreach are just giving up on copper tech.
definitely looking at Starlink as an alternative.
