Slow WiFi Speeds
Hi All,
I have recently upgraded to full speed Broadband (1.0G) with a minimum speed of 600Mb. However, my WiFi speeds are consistently at about 90Mb on everything we have. I have checked the speeds with phone and pad right next to the hub but it doesn't show anything better than 90Mb (at best!) with a similar upload speed. I have of course turned the hub off etc. etc. but none of this makes any difference. I am aware that the WiFi speeds will always be less than the broadband speed but surely I should be getting better speeds than I'm currently showing? Or am I simply misunderstanding the situation and all is operating correctly?
Thanks

Re: Slow WiFi Speeds
@RobbieF2 With the figure you quote below the 100Mb/s for both the wi-fi and the wireless, then cable from the ONT to the Port4 wan connection is the one to look at, requires all 8 pin connections to be good for a 1Gb/s speed, if not that then say which sky Hub you have.
Also take a look on the service checker, your 30 day history will show you what the profile and the speed test check sky makes daily, 30 day history is there!

Re: Slow WiFi Speeds
Thanks JimM1,
I have reseated the cable between the ONT and Port 4 but WiFi now flagging 60Mb down and 75Mb up. So nothing changed really. I think that I am probably getting the correct speed in terms of B/B and the Sky checker says there are no issues with either B/B or Wifi but it is still slow... I just don't understand why there should be such a difference between what I should be getting through the WiFi and what I am actually getting through the WiFi. Can I ask does my situation seem right to everyone out there? I have tried to go through Sky but they, through the chat feature, push me to the checker and that isn't flagging a problem. So I'm unsure if I have a problem or not!
BTW the hub is a big black SR203..
Thanks again for the assistance.
