Slow WIFI

I have just changed from Virgin to Sky broadband and the wifi signal is not very good.  When I had virgin the signal was excellent and always full bars but the sky is just good and on 2 bars.  You can really tell the difference as just simple things like loading facebook etc is really slow.  I have disconnected my sky connection and just used normal 5G and then works fine again.  Put wifi back on again and goes back to going slow again.  I have turned the router off a few times for a few minutes and rebooted but still the same.  I have tried repositioning router in different places and having my phone right next to router and no better.  Broadband speed checker is ok too.

Is this because it's a new connection and might work better once it's bedded in as the guy that came to install said it should turn off/on a few times over the next day or two to update etc..

Just not sure where to go with this now and all help is appreciated.  Or have I got to put up with this for the next 2 years.

No, it won't magically improve I'm afraid. If it's the Sky Max hub it likes to use higher 5gHz bands that doesn't always play nicely with other devices.

You may need to consider either the Sky WiFi Max add-on package or perhaps purchasing a 3rd party mesh system (which remains yours regardless of ISP used and would be my own personal choice by a country mile), and disable the Sky hub wifi entirely.
