Skymax and MySky app
I "upgraded" to the new Skymax WiFi6 hub last week and have been having the same problems as it seems everyone does. i.e. the wifi keeps dropping out and, on a few occasions, did not come back and wanted the password input again as well as lower speeds.
I looked at various threads on here and decided to firstly reduce the security setting. This only resulted on nothing being able to log into the WiFi so I changed it back to the default. Then I temporarily disabled the 5Ghz channel on the router. Not sure if it has helped or not. However, I want to re-enable it to make a comparison and now the MySky app is telling me the router is off line although it gives me the list of everything connected to it. naturally it isn't off line. So I cannot access the settings to re-enable the 5Ghz.
Any suggestions. I am seriously considering pulling out of WiFi max and buying a third party router.

Re: Skymax and MySky app
@uffelbob The device that you are trying to reconnect with have you switched off the wi-fi connection on that for 30 seconds, then back on and allow it to reconnect, try that first, one off the problems when you rely on a app based device to control a hub!
You do not want to switch off and leave the 5Ghz in that off state unless you wish to get low speed's of the 2.4Ghz band.
Edit:- If you did switch off ONLY the upper band then you can change again, if you switched them both off then you have a problem, your mobile device will show you if it see's the SSID off the hub being transmitted. Will link the Tips from above.
Just look at the Sky Max option, nothing else....

Re: Skymax and MySky app
Thanks. I only switched off the 5 ghz band as there were suggestions that this may have been what was causing the wifi to drop out from time to time so the wifi is still working just only on 2.4. Tried switching off wifi on my phone (app only available on phones) and on again but MySky app still showing as offline which of course it isn't. tried rebooting the router as well but no luck there. deleted the app and reinstalled. no joy there either.
192.168.0.1 no longer works on the PC to access the settings as it just says "myrouter.io" cannot be reached. I can access it on my phone but naturally the 5 ghz band is greyed out and there is no option to re-enable it.
I am really hacked off that Sky now allow so little user settings on this router.
Any more suggestions gratefully received. It is now Sunday and tomorrow is a bank holiday so not much chance of getting hold of Sky methinks

Re: Skymax and MySky app
@uffelbob If you cannot get it all done via the app, and you have not changed many settings on the hub, then factory reset will clear it all and back to the Out Off Box state, but you need to go change the setting's back and at least you know not to mess with the band on/off!
Hold the reset button wps for i think it's 20 seconds on that Sky Max hub, leave it to do it's thing will take about 5 minutes, when back up and online should be as it came first....

Re: Skymax and MySky app
I will assume that is sarcasm :0). So now I have the dual bands up and running again and lo and behold my speed has dropped. So it looks like the 2.4 band is faster than the 5, May have to look at splitting the bands I suppose

Re: Skymax and MySky app
@uffelbob You are not going to be able to split the bands with the Sky Max hub, it is one off it's not allowed features.
Android is having some issues speed wise, just had to drop off the wireless, leave for 30 seconds, back on and now back up, 12mb/s before 359mb/s after. Got to go pin that sucker down now, well aware and you were correct about the old sarcasm sorry for that...👍
