Hello
Any suggestions. My Sky Q box connects to an 8 port TP link switch, then using ethernet cable to the Sky Router. We turn off the TV at the socket each night. When we turn back on sometimes the Sky box connects via WiFi not using the switch. If we loose the Internet which is often, we need to turn off all WiFi devices and hope it all connects back up. An engineer came out and changed the settings which worked until the next WiFi drop out. Any ideas PLEASE.

Could you clarify if that's the television set, or the Q box, or both?
Note that modern AV hardware really isn't designed to be routinely powered off at the wall.

Only the TV set is powered off.
Sky box always on.
Issues some times when power TV up, or when the net drops out. The Sky Q box sometimes then tries to connect to the router NOT by ethernet cable via its switcher but WiFi.

Is Sky WiFi switched off on the Q box? Note that's not possible if you have any wireless Mini boxes

We only have a Sky booster, as far as I know nothing is turned off. As previously stated most the time it works but losing the net is the worse issue is when every Wi-Fi device is powered off, Sky Q is off then the hub reset and hopefully the ethernet switch connects to the router.

OK: if the Q box WiFi is on then there's no way to force it to use ethernet.

How do I check that?

Press the ‘Home’ button on your Sky remote control.
Scroll down to ‘Settings’.
When you arrive at ‘Settings’ please do not press the enter/select button.
Enter the sequence 001 and press the enter/select button.
You will now enter the engineering menu. The message “These settings should only be changed if you’ve been instructed to by Sky” will pop up.
Now select the ‘Network’ menu. Here you have the options to separately turn 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless on or off. You also have the opportunity to set the channel(s) used by the 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Make sure you turn off both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and select ‘Confirm’.

Previously the Sky Engineer turned off Mesh control also WiFi so why it's still not responding to using just its Ethernet cable I don't know.
