Sky max hub

Have had sky max hub , Gigafast installed 2 weeks, sky also installed 3 pods around the house , up until 2 days ago was getting speeds of 400+ in most rooms which is good for WiFi but now suddenly speeds have dropped to less than 25 in the same rooms I was getting 400+.

if I stand in the room with the hub do a speed test I can get 700+, but step outside the room it drops to 30+, then just 20+ in most other rooms . Rang sky and was told have to wait 5weeks for an WiFi engineer to attend . Really poor , have been with Sky for 27yrs, not sure at this stage I'll reach 28 years .

@Phillipk9 assume you have looked st the diagnostics in the Service Checker as it sounds like either a pod has lost power or is faulty. One issue is a powered down pod shows no lights but also so does one fully connected so they are easy to confuse. You can do some dizgnosis yourself if you load an app like WiFi Sweetspots onto a phone and see if you can find where the issue is.

@Phillipk9

Unfortunately once three pods are in place, Sky is approaching the end of the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee', because what's actually 'guaranteed' is a small refund if the target minimum coverage and speed isn't achieved.

Re: Sky max hub

Thanks , yes I've gone into the service checker and all 3 pods are showing connected . I'll down  the sweet spot app as you've suggested , but frankly not waiting 5 weeks for an engineer to come out will probably go over to Virgin as my wife and daughter both work for the NHS From home and we need strong , reliable WiFi which is what I thought I would get by go to the top gigafast with the max hub but I'm now reading I'm not alone this this issue , it seems that this new white n6 router is not for for purpose which would may explain why they expect me to wait 5 weeks for an engineer as there are so many engineer visits being needed.

Re: Sky max hub

Thanks , unfortunately I think I've reached the end of the road with SKY on this , they seem disinterested when you call them and can't wait 5 weeks for engineer as both my wife and daughter work for the NHS at home and need strong , reliable WiFi which this new max hub N6 white router is simply not delivering and I am reading others are experiencing the same issue . Am going to give Virgin a try .
