Sky internet slow from 3pm onwards

Hi

Every afternoon around 3pm my internet runs slowly.  Trying to upload documents is a no-go.  As I'm working from home this is a definite hinderence.

Please don't just ask me to post my statistics, tell me how to find my statistics as I am a novice at knowing how to check my speed etc.

Thank You

I am having the same issues. Interestingly when I test my connection Sky rates it as "good" but the Ookla speed tests shows a fraction of what I should be getting.

Yes, Sky rated mine as good too.  But it is far from good, from 3pm I can do no work at all as most of my work is loading documents.

Sounds like you might be struggling from WiFi contention as this is around the time the kids come home from school & some adults finish work. Are you using WiFi or ethernet to the device you are working from home with?

I'm using Wi-Fi.  There is no Ethernet connection in the room and I can't move my desk closer to the Ethernet as that's downstairs in the hall and office is upstairs.

Strange thing is it's been fine for years, this has only started in the last couple of months.

If you can temporarily connect via ethernet one time to test if the issue is still there that would tell you if the problem is with your actual Sky line or just the local WiFi conditions.
