Sky hub keeps blocking Nas
Hi everyone
I'm stumped on this - I have a zidoo 8k media player and large qnap Nas drive with an additional Asus ax5400 router .was on virgin and everything worked perfectly but recently moved to sky .my zidoo now keeps dropping connection to my Nas , only for a split second but long enough to stop it playing occasionally and it keeps reporting the connection drop on screen .if I remove the network cable to the sky hub the issue stops but of course I then have no internet so the zidoo can't update it's posters etc .tried changing cables different configurations and nothing works except taking the sky router out of the equation .it's almost like it keeps demanding a handshake and blocking the system .hoping someone can help on this as I'm out of ideas

Re: Sky hub keeps blocking Nas
@coolreptile it is highly improbable that Sky are "blocking" anything your issue is far more likely down to the network configuration not being correct. As a start check that you have not got an issue with the IP address Sky hubs use the range 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.253 while some virgin hubs use a range of 192.168.100.x Even if you have chosen a fixed address in the correct range ensure you have reserved the address on the Sky hubs so its DHCP server does not offer the same address to another device.

Re: Sky hub keeps blocking Nas
The Nas and zidoo have a fixed IP and both in range , just tried what you said as I hadn't tried assigning them in the sky hub but the error still keeps coming up .as I said when I remove the sky hub from the network it all works fine and it did work without fault so it's deffo the sky hub that's doing it .really hoped you had it then as well lol

Re: Sky hub keeps blocking Nas
@coolreptile these issues can be irritating to sort but Sky hubs dont block internal network traffic. Check every detail is correct as a single mistyped character would cause the issue putting a , instead of a . Is one I have made myself.

Re: Sky hub keeps blocking Nas
I know they normally don't but for some reason it is .triple checked all info and it's correct and both my Nas and zidoo have there IP and Mac addresses assigned and the info was taken directly off the sky hub and double checked on each device so everything is correct . I'm completely flummoxed by this one as are my friends and were all tech heads . It's almost like it's demanding a handshake every 5 minutes from either the zidoo or the Nas and cutting off everything else to it momentarily .
