Sky engineer misses 3 appointments

Last November an engineer was due to do who knows what as sky just informed me they were coming. I was having problems with glass, slow or no connection, turning itself to home screen while we're watching normal TV. The apps worked, I contacted sky when they didn't turn up, they said open reach didn't get the order, sorry, the engineer was to to upgrade our TV as sky had upgraded glass and our TV needed to be adjusted to cope, meanwhile turn down screen res in settings and we'll get a new appointment in January. The date came and went, no one turned up, contacted them again, told that ,again, open reach didn't receive the order from them and will set up new order, when I explained that didn't work last time, I was curtly told it's all we can do. Do I waited , no one came. I called a 3rd time, told all information given was wrong, my router isn't strong enough to run TV and other devices in my home. After long discussion they agreed to update my broadband at a reduced cost, but engineer needs to come, guess what, no one has turned up. Any advice, please. These Engineers seem to be falling into a black hole 😕

@madmom What is you current connection type and the speed package that you have from sky, an OR Engineer may just not be able to work an miracles to up speed especially if you have a copper OR Master socket connection, streaming in HD etc requires such, and have linked that info below for you to look at, the black hole is full of Engineers they are all busy, sounds like you should have got a sky Engineer as the first step on the ladder!

Re: Sky engineer misses 3 appointments

At the moment wireless router 35mbs, engineer to come to upgrade to 300 I think. But engineer never came, 3 missed appointments. If I missed them they charge £25 per time, do I think they owe me £75 as my time is as important as theirs 😊

Re: Sky engineer misses 3 appointments

I never asked for any engineer, they told me they were coming, no explanation, Sky have arranged, or supposed to have arranged everything. But thank you for your swift reply. 😁

Re: Sky engineer misses 3 appointments

Thank you, that's really helpful, I was going to ask for £75 for wasting my time, as that's what they charge if I miss appointments 😜

Re: Sky engineer misses 3 appointments

@madmom Fibre installation then for you, unknown who is going to be doing that, ie OR Openreach or CF CityFibre all depends on what is available and to be done, even if Fibre is available to you at all, the sky Fibre checker can say what, and the BTW also so have linked them both below, but if you have both available the sky Preference and bias may be towards CF and that is for sky/CF to decide....

@madmom given Ofcom require £31.19 for each missed appointment you should be slightly ahead. Delays on the switch to fibre are not that unusual as Openreach have mutiple tasks first not all of which go to plan.

You won’t get compensation if:

Re: Sky engineer misses 3 appointments

@madmom It's the getting it that becomes the fun part, just think off it as the purse strings are closed, sky don't like giving it in the slightest and the CS who has organised visit's which sounds like that was a complete C/UP to start with may be getting a serious slapping!

3 Months off Free internet credited to the account, good luck with that so to speak!🙄👍

Re: Sky engineer misses 3 appointments

Alas not sure if I will get compensation, apparently I have had 4 ghost orders, OR never got the orders, so I have to wait until Monday now to speak with them about this. They are cancelling, yet again, this last order and re ordering, again. They will phone me on Monday with a new date and put me through the money side if things, wish me luck 😜

Re: Sky engineer misses 3 appointments

Apparently that's if OR didn't show up to an appointment they knew about. My 4 orders and counting, are ghost orders, OR never got them. Will find out on Monday what happens next . Watch this space, I'm haunted 👻
