Sky broadband slower using ethernet cable
Why does my sky broadband slow down when I connect Xbox with ethernet cable? Sky broadband is the worst and slowest internet I've ever had. Can't wait to get it pulled out.

Re: Sky broadband slower using ethernet cable
@Gail01 a lot depends on the cable you are using to get the full 900Mb/s speeds over Ethernet you need a fully wired cable if the cable has only 4 of the 8 pairs connected or one wire with a break then speeds drop to around 90Mb/s. There are other possible explanations but that is the most common issue.

Re: Sky broadband slower using ethernet cable
New 10M cat 6 cable, tested end to end and working. tried my laptop 65mb, faster using WiFi 115mb but I'm having to separate 2.4ghz and 5ghz as they don't stay connected constantly dropping in and out. Only tried the ethernet cable for something more stable. When I had BT everything was hardwired and worked perfect, can't even plug in the CCTV DVR. now have sky and it can't cope, pure trunks, worst broadband I've had.
