Just as the title suggests. Sky broadband shield is compeltely disabled in my account yet despite that it still blocks access to some websites and also has me locked on a strict safesearch mode on Google.
I've tried fully resetting the hub, deleting all browser cache, history, and cookies. Called Sky multiple times reageding this as well and they don't even know what the issue is as its showing as disabled on their end.
Anyone else experienced this issue?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@DA9090 it is not an issue we see commonly but odd reports have been made.
These blocks are not always down to Broadband Shield as other things can cause these issues. Are you running internet security software as many of those have parental control features? Is the issue repeated on different devices or isolated to one?. Can you access the site on a different browser?. Check the settings on your Google account etc.
edit If the above are clear try changing the DNS settings on the device from using the router address to using a public DNS like Googles on 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 thst or using a VPN should bypass the Shield.

Hi,
This issue is broadband shield specific as I get the Broadband shield message when trying to visit websites. I'll try and change the DNS settings but think I'll just cancel my broadband if this issue can't be reasonably fixed by Sky.

Same issue for me. Contracts up in a month I will choose a different provider. If its not access issues then its constantly dropping in an out. Disappointing!

If turning off Broadband Shield doesn't work - try accessing the router and in the Security tab change "Block Keywords" to "Never"
