Sky broadband intermittently dropping

I have been having an issue with sky broadband for months now. The internet will randomly drop for a few to ten minutes and return. The middle light on the router will go blank then flash orange then go solid orange then green again. Some days it is really bad and happening well over ten times (whilst I'm awake) other days maybe once or twice.

i have had both a sky engineer and multiple BT engineers out. They always say the same thing that all of their checks show no issues. Whenever I call Sky they also sayeverything looks good.

I can't just keep getting engineers out with no solution. Would switching providers possibly resolve this issue as I have seen a lot of posts on my local facebook group naming sky when saying their signal also drops out. Also would full fibre resolve this

@JRGT91Is full fibre available to you in your area? Does the drop outs have any sort of pattern? Sometimes moving to another provider does help, but it is not always the case.

If someone has helped give them Like.

Re: Sky broadband intermittently dropping

Hi thanks for your reply.

Full fibre is available in my area I have spoken to the engineers who have said it would be much better but just concerned after all that the issue would persist.

Re: Sky broadband intermittently dropping

I had problems with wifi dropping for a while even hub showed there was an error with wifi changed to full fibre (still kept the same hub even though had problems) now worse than before really fed up, just keep comming up with the same excuse all the time. seriously thinking of changing and been with sky for years.  exchange is only over the road so there should be no issues there

Re: Sky broadband intermittently dropping

Also there does not seem to be any obvious patterns to the dropouts

@JRGT91  If full fibre is available to you this would take out the problems that happen with the older copper network  if this is the issue that is causing your internet to drop.

Re: Sky broadband intermittently dropping

I am having the same issue, just dropping out for no reason at all, constant 'you are not connected to the internet' type message.

The wifi coverage in the house is poor to the point I bought a Cisco router and have that set up wired to downstairs and connect many devices to that.

I've just reset the sky hub again to see if that will make a difference.

The simple fact is these hubs degrade over time, as all devices do, but getting a new one sent out is nigh on impossible.

I have the same issue. Has Sky provided a solution to this yet?

Re: Sky broadband intermittently dropping

I'm beyond frustrated with this issue. I'm WFH and once again I have no internet access. When I run a diagnostic check it tells me everything is fine, but every device requiring WiFi says differently. I really regret changing providers to @Sky
