Sky broadband does not reconnect after “failing”
Absolutely hate Sky for this. And they won't aend anyone out now. Tried to get an engineer to come out. Booked day off and they never turned up. Complained but got nowhere. Told them that i wanted to leave. Offered me a new hub. Surprise suprise, just gone on holiday, the hub fails and will not reset so i now have no broadband working at home. Why does the hub never reset? Why do I have to restrart the hub everytime it fails?

Re: Sky broadband does not reconnect after “failing”
It is a Sky network & router design issue, many have reported the issue.
Unfortunately, Sky has no idea how to write code in their products as a watchdog to reboot the router when it fails to connect and then retry on a half-hour basis if it continues to have no internet activity.
Recommend this goes to the design team at Sky and build a watchdog that retries on a 1/2 hour basis when internet connectivity fails, even rebooting the router if necessary by a watchdog after hour failure.
Zen internet on FTTP (900Mbps down, 100Mbps up). SAT> IP (Apple 4K 2nd gen TV to LG C1 OLED UHD TV/Dolby Atmos Denon AVR, DacMagic Plus for Hi-Res audio), hosting own blog/forum (cluster), OPNsense & Zenarmor L4/L7 NGFW & DPI IDS/IPS, Asus ET12 Pro Tri-Band wifi, Linux, Gamer: Xbox Series X/i7 laptop, round-robin DNS over HTTPS, non-proprietary VoIP HD AMR-WB (G.722.2) and more... Beta tester Apple iOS/watchOS/tvOS/iPadOS/macOS.

Re: Sky broadband does not reconnect after “failing”
Thank you for the reply. What makes it worse is that they let you do all the guff on the MySky app to then tell you there is a fault. (removed) You should be able to reset it remotely at least. Now though i have mo internet, no security as I have Ring and no way of resetting it. So I think that is enough. It has fallen over at least 10 times this year & Sky doesn't appear to care.
