Sky WiFi Max Hub - slow request timings

Hello all,

I signed up to sky fibre in middle of July, I have the white sky hub WiFi max router - model # SR213-O2-UK-wht

From the beginning we noticed that the internet seems really bad on our devices. The speed itself is ok, but it seems that the requests just take ages to actually be processed.

For example, if we run a speed test it takes a while to get started, but when it does it flies up to the expected speeds.

On our WiFi devices, this translates to hitting "search" on Google, waiting too long and then just switching WiFi off. As soon as phone disconnects from WiFi, I can see the page loading behind my control centre (iPhone).

Our Samsung SmartThings hub is telling us it's getting unstable connection

Our smart meter beeps every hour because of the same issue.

Has anyone else encountered this and is there a fix? Presumably this is something to do with WiFi settings within the router itself?

thanks!

@JackLloyd28

Try manually changing the DNS settings on one of your devices to 8.8.8.8 and see if that improves anything. If it does then its likely an issue with Skys DNS on your end or Sky Shield.
