Sky Wi-Fi Max

Hi all,

Sorry if this is a repeat question as I ve seen some posts about this but as they are a few months old I am just looking for some up to date advice. Currently have Superfast broadband. Connection speed is guaranteed to be around 27mbps d/l but only 5.7 mbps upload.  Actually works fine and is stable but my son who games has been experiencing lag on his Xbox which has prompted me to look at an upgrade. Full fibre is out of my price range but currently have an offer to upgrade to Wi-Fi Max for another £4 per month. Seems a bit of a no brainier at that cost but based on what I have read I can't actually decide whether this is likely to make a difference. For £4, you might say well does it matter,  but I am a 'if it ain't broke' person and quite often a 'if it's only slightly broke' person aswell so any advice would be much appreciated.

Realistically subscription to the WiFi Max service can make no difference to what sounds like poor FTTC broadband.  It would almost certainly be more beneficial to optimise connection to the console over ethernet cable (if possible) or Powerline networking.
