Sky Ultra Fast FTTP broadband question
Hi there im getting Sky Ultra Fast FTTP 930mps broadband in 10 days time does the router come through the post or will the sky engineer have it? As I forgot to ask the customer service operator that question also do they let you know when they are arriving as I don't finish work till 2pm so it would have to be after 2:30 pm, also i already have FTTP to my property so I won't need an engineer

Re: Sky Ultra Fast FTTP broadband question
The router is posted out in advance of the installation/activation once it has been confirmed so it is delivered in time
when you placed the order you would have been given the choice to choose where you wanted it delivered to

Re: Sky Ultra Fast FTTP broadband question
Thought I'd give an update with the activation date 6 days away my router still not dispatched and is stuck on the the 15th of July (order was placed on 15th of July) plus why do I need a sky engineer to install it as I've already got FTTP connection to my house.
So I hope it arrives by Tuesday as my vodafone broadband gets cut off at 1am on the 29th July.

Re: Sky Ultra Fast FTTP broadband question
@Dec712 Did you have sky take care off everything via the OTS, your vodafone line should not get shutdown at all for a switching issue, and would expect your hub to be Sat off this week or Monday at the latest via the dispatch. All you can do is keep an eye on it until then!

Re: Sky Ultra Fast FTTP broadband question
So just to update my hub will be delivered on Friday ready for Tuesday also is it mandatory for a sky engineer to come to my property to install it as I can set it up my self including putting the phone cable at the back of the router, but customer service insist I have an engineer come to my property, but i already have an ONT box installed and the gray box outside as apparently the engineer visit is for first time installation as Vodafone installed it 4 years ago.

@Dec712 What ONT do you have connected, take a picture and post it to the site!

Re: Sky Ultra Fast FTTP broadband question
@Dec712 Will take a look when cleared for viewing! When you got the Vodafone package, what speed profile was applied at the time!

Re: Sky Ultra Fast FTTP broadband question
@Dec712 Cant think off any specific reason why sky would wish to send an Engineer for a hub swapout, could see if it was an OR Engineer and they wish to maybe swapout the ONT possible for a phone service requirement who knows!
Should be no need to swap that Nokia out!

Re: Sky Ultra Fast FTTP broadband question
Are you in a Cityfibre area? If so then Sky might be provisioning your service via them rather than Openreach which will require an install of another fibre cable.
Check and see if the service you've ordered is symmetric - same speed up and down. If it is then its Cityfibre and a new physical install.

Re: Sky Ultra Fast FTTP broadband question
No I don't have city fiber in my area im only in a openreach fiber area so I find it strange as to why sky want to send an engineer out for basically a hub swap.
