Sky Superfast FTTC - Connecting 3rd Party Router via TP Link Modem

Hi all 👋🏼 I'm currently on Sky Superfast FTTC (FTTP isn't available unfortunately) and the Sky Max Hub doesn't quite cut the mustard 😅 especially whilst gaming!

So I thought I'd purchase some hardware (with future proofing in mind) but am having some difficulty getting a connection.

Hardware:

* TP Link W9960 (for use as a modem)

* Asus RoG Rapture GT-BE98

So I connected the main line (coming into the house) into the TP Link and a LAN cable into LAN1 and the other end into the RoG's WAN port (it's 2.5 gb).

On the TP Link, whilst setting it up for Bridge mode I enabled VLAN and set it to 101. Everything else seemed straight forward, all done under basic/quick setup.

With the RoG, the network setup seemed straight forward, on the main page it even mentions the internet is connected (wireless) and I'm getting full bars on devices but there isn't a connection.

I'm new to networking so have hit a brick wall at this point lol, could anyone help out or even offer their 2 pence? Any assistance would be highly appreciated 💯

Are you in UK or Ireland?
What WAN settings have you put in on the Asus router?
