Sky Superfast 80

I've had an offer for Sky Superfast 80. Currently have Sky Superfast broadband. Is Superfast 80 comparible or better?

@kellock2009 That's the case, and the range is up to 80Mb/s and a lot does depend on how good the line connection is, but the DLM will find the sweet spot!

What is the current speed to your hub at present, package depends also on what you can get to the home, the BT checker will show you what to your address! Fill in the fields and see!

Re: Sky Superfast 80

Hi JimM1,

Thank you for the link. I've checked on the BT checker but l'm not sure what they are telling me. I also tried to post the results but got an error message stating invalid HTML found in the message body and removed. So the results have been deleted.

@kellock2009 From what you have posted then yes VDSL connection FTTC copper on a sky 80/20Mb/s speed split, Fibre is not yet available to you as it is showing as an On Demand product!

Superfast comes in two flavours: if you currently have the Superfast 35 product then Superfast 80 is, as might be guessed, rather faster ; )

Re: Sky Superfast 80

Hi JimM1,

Thank you for clarifying for me. Based on your reply, which if l'm reading it correctly, Sky 80 offers 20mbs but on Sky's service checker, the speed to the hub is 37.5mbs, so based on my understanding, l am better sticking with Sky Broadband Superfast.

Re: Sky Superfast 80

@kellock2009 80/20Mb/s is a 80Mb/s max speed download with a 20Mb/s upload, the other package like you have is a 40/10, so everything is 50% lower in speed! The post you did with BT shows what is available to you at about 79.7Mb/s on a good day with a good connection!

That suggests you are currently provisioned on Superfast 35 (which is actually a service capped at 40Mbs inbound and 10Mbs outbound)

Your address is quite capable of receiving Superfast 80.

Are you perhaps on the Social Tariff broadband (reduced pricing for households in receipt of certain benefits)?

Hi JimM1,

Without stating the obvious then, Sky 80 is the better option then?

Re: Sky Superfast 80

Hi TimmyBGood,

Nope. I'm not on any benefits or anything like that. The email said that l had been sent the offer as a VIP member. Must admit, l was surprised but it seems a genuine offer.
