Sky Q router to full fibre

I have a Sky Q router with coax running at 64 mps. We have ordered an upgrade to full fibre and 150 mps. I believe we need an Ethernet cable and an ONT box which will connect to the outside line. I received a short Ethernet cable in the post. But will the engineer bring the ONT box and any other bits? Also how does the full fibre cable in the street connect to the ONT box?

No I think you are getting confused.

The SR203 is the Sky Broadband Hub NOT the Sky Q hub. If you have the SR203 then this is the correct hub to connect to the Openreach ONT.

The ER115 is the Sky Q hub. If you have this hub then you'll expect a new hub in the post.

The ont and outside work to bring the fibre optic up to and inside the house will be done on your activation date

Additionally the external would be bought into a csp to be spliced with the internal fibre

Re: Sky Q router to full fibre

We have an openreach engineer here outside the house, just now doing exactly what you said. But I'm still unsure whether the Sky engineer will bring the ONT box with him, as the girl on the phone said we'd get delivery 'of a box' before the engineer turns up. Bit of fun for the openreach guy, he says our duncting goes up the road on our side of the street and the fibre comes down the other side - so he's not sure how to connect the two!

Openreach will run all cables into your home and terminate it at a white ONT box on your wall. Sky will then send their own hub to connect to that ONT for internet access. So you will essentially have two boxes, one Openreach, one Sky.

It should have been posted to you a few days before activation. When is your activation date?

As far as I know all Ultrafast subscriptions should be sent the SR203 but it sounds like you still have the ER115/Sky Q hub?

Re: Sky Q router to full fibre

We have the sr203 sky Q already. Ok thanks. We'll expect the other sky box in the port shortly.

That's what Sky grandiosely call their 'conversion kit' because it 'converts' an existing Sky Broadband Hub (SR203) in use with FTTC to be suitable for FTTP by going between the WAN ethernet port (#4) on the Hub and the ethernet port on the ONT.

If there isn't a duct across the road, unfortunately that's going to delay things a bit....

Re: Sky Q router to full fibre

He found a dunct. Mud in it but he cleared it. And so he's done all the connections and put an ONT on the wall outside.
