Sky Q box WiFi capability

Hi, I am hoping someone can advise me please. I currently have Sky Fibre (FTTC), one Sky Q gold box and one Sky Q mini. Old 1930s house so thick walls etc! Overall speed is ok, line only gets 43 Mbps but likely to get FTTP this year (not Sky as it's not BT rollout), also want to improve the WiFi speeds around the house. After tonnes of Google's and reading I am down to two options and would like some advice.

1. Power line all Sky Q boxes together on AV1300 and use them as APs

2. new mesh system probably TP Link and connect them to the nodes and disable all Sky Q WiFi.

I can't decide as I am unsure of the Sky Q WiFi capabilities, I know that Sky Q itself uses a 5Ghz Mesh but my question is can my devices also use 5Ghz with Sky? If I turn off all Sky Q boxes I can get a good speed at the back of the house but low WiFi strength, once they are all on I see the signal high but overall speeds not as good (also feels like a noticeable lag), I am suspicious devices can only use 2.4 on the boxes and 2.4 and 5 on the router, is this correct? If so powrlines are pointless as I will only connect to the Sky Q on 2.4 unless I roam near the router, upstairs and front of house. Can anyone advise please, basically if I hardwire the W boxes will they only allow me 2.4 connections?

Thanks

@Si239

Realistically the 'Q mesh' is a 2015 design hosted in boxes which are a particularly poor shape for WiFi.  Any modern system is likely to be significantly better.
