Sky Q Mini boxes as booster/Mesh

I have had Sky Q for a few years now (one main box wired to router and 2 additional miniboxes which are wireless).

My current setup works well, but there is one area where my WiFi isn't so great. Rather than invest in additional hardware, my BT broadband contact is coming to an end, and I am exploring various options. I have seen that Sky Q Mini boxes can act as WiFi boosters but from what I have read, this can be hit and miss.

If I opt for a Sky broadband package, I assume they will just send me a new router. How easy is it to setup a mesh with the other Sky Q boxes? Any info is much appreciated as I cant seem to find much on this feature.

When Sky is the ISP and a Sky Hub is in place, the Q television boxes automatically become hotspots for other devices (they'll probably need a network reset to do this).

You could actually have them being hotspots now:

Re: Sky Q Mini boxes as booster/Mesh

I tried and failed in the past to get the mesh to work well but found it working perfectly by accident today! I've recently had an extension and the router has moved slightly further away. I get no signal now in the back bedroom, the back porch where my wife has her home office or the garden. I got her a TP Link Powerline adapter which solved her PC networking issues (connected via ethernet cable) but not for the other areas obviously. This afternoon I plugged one of the miniboxes into the adapter and suddenly wifi appeared in all those hard to reach areas. I have the WiFi boost guarantee addon. As soon as I unplugged the minibox, my phone stopped having a full WiFi signal and dropped instantly to 4G.

1. Can I plug a WiFi booster into the Powerline adapter?

2. I see there are 2 types, what one is needed (I presume the square shaped Sky Wireless Booster)

3. How do I get one as I am just going around in circles on the Sky help site.

There are three models of Sky wireless booster (pictured in the link below) : you'd want the model which matches the shape of your Sky Hub model, but in white plastic.

Re: Sky Q Mini boxes as booster/Mesh

Thanks, I found the settings and enabled WiFi hotspots, but it seems to make little difference.

A device, for example phone, does not change to the stronger signal when roaming around the household.
