Sky Max Wifi Extender has lost connection to the router and keeps dropping out

I have a Sky Max hub and wifi extenders.  One of the extenders has started to continuously drop the wifi signal; the app says it's connected and online.  However, in practice, it's not sending out any signal.  How can this be resolved?  Is there any way to reset the extender hard or get it working correctly again?
